Getting Around Road Closures
To ensure the safety of large audiences and to improve free-flowing access to the installations, 2009 will feature increased and improved road closures - including the Bay Street corridor, the busy section of McCaul near the AGO and OCAD, and a continuation of the closure on Liberty Street.
Bay Street
Bay Street will be closed between Gerrard Street and Front Street to all vehicular traffic at 6pm Saturday, October 3 until 9am Sunday, October 4, 2009.
Street closures will include the following:
- Local traffic only on Bay Street between Gerrard Street and Edward Street
- Early closure of Bay Street between Adelaide Street and King Street West at 4pm on Saturday October 3
- A two-way lane will be setup on Bay Street between Dundas Street West and just slightly north of Albert Street to allow 24 hour access to The Marriot Hotel, Bell Trinity Square, and the Toronto Eaton Centre loading docks.� This access lane will be controlled and accessible only from Dundas Street West.
- All major east-west bound streets will remain open
Liberty Village
Liberty Street/East Liberty Street will be closed between Dufferin Street and Pirandello Street to all vehicular traffic at 5pm Saturday, October 3 until 9am Sunday, October 4, 2009.
Street closures will include the following:
- Mowat Avenue will be converted to two-way local traffic only from King Street West to approximately 100m north of Liberty Street
- Fraser Avenue will be closed south of King Street West
- Pardee Avenue will be closed south of Liberty Street
- Jefferson Avenue will be converted to allow local traffic only between King Street West and Liberty Street
- Atlantic Avenue will be closed south of Snooker Street
- Hanna Avenue will be converted to allow local traffic only between Snooker Street and the Toy Factory Lofts parking lot
- Lynn Williams Street will be closed at East Liberty Street
McCaul Street
McCaul Street will be closed between Dundas Street West and Grange Road to all vehicular traffic at 4:00pm Saturday, October 3 until 10:00am Sunday, October 4, 2009.
