Each artist award recipient receives a $5,000.00 cheque from Scotiabank.

The Lost and Found Forest, 2009, by Jerome McGrath and Rina Grosman, was a manufactured forest made up of thousands of nails, string and sound.

Twofold, by GALTstudio, was an alleyway framed the intersection of flux and stillness. Its movement was suspended in a canopy of 10,000 pieces, layering the experience of space.

The Apology Project 2009, by Maria Legault, consisted of a cluster of people wearing large brown paper bags on their bodies who congested a public hallway and personally apologized to every person who ventures through them.

The contest ends at 11:59 p.m. (ET) on October 9, 2009. No purchase is necessary. The grand prize also includes admission and catalogue to upArt 2009, an annual contemporary art fair at the Gladstone Hotel, a $100 gift voucher redeemable at any of Toronto's Sir Corp Restaurants and $400 in spending money. The approximate retail value of the grand prize is $1000. Each AGO and ROM membership has an approximate retail value of $90. The chances of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the contest period. Correctly answering a skill testing question is required to be officially declared a winner.
