401 Richmond is celebrating twenty years of creative place-making. This is a place where discoveries are made each day and people are inspired to make, innovate, experiment, and play. It is a place where people imagine the shape and form of the future.

Play happens here every day as part of the creative process feeding curiousity and exploration. It helps artists, thinkers, and makers to imagine possibilities, generate ideas, and solve problems. For many, it’s part of taking an idea, concept, or inspiration from Point A to Point B.

Alongside our galleries and shops, we're hosting numerous interactive and immersive projects all under one roof.  Activating unconventional spaces throughout the building, our program offers an engaging experience that's well-suited to curious and playful crowds who want to avoid line-ups!

Projects by multiple artists and collectives explore how play is part of the process of creating and interacting with contemporary art.
