Road Closures
To ensure the safety of large audiences and to improve free-flowing access to the art, the City-produced exhibitions will be positioned close to the Yonge-University TTC subway line in 2010. New this year, Yonge Street will be entirely closed to car traffic from Bloor Street south to Front Street, providing safe and easy access to many projects for pedestrians.
Yonge Street
Yonge Street will be closed between Front Street and Bloor Street to all vehicular traffic at 5pm Saturday, October 2 until 9am Sunday, October 3, 2010.
Major East-West routes will remain open at Yonge Street (including Wellington, King, Adelaide, Richmond, Dundas, College, and Wellesley. Queen Street will not be open).
Only local traffic will have access to smaller side streets connected to Yonge Street.
SPECIAL NOTE — EARLY CLOSURE:
The section of Yonge Street between Queen Street and Richmond Street will be closed from Noon on October 2 to 9am on October 3, 2010.
Queen Street
Queen Street will be closed between Victoria Street and University Avenue to all vehicular traffic at 5pm on October 2 to 9am on October 3, 2021 (streetcars will be permitted to pass).
Bloor Street / Yorkville Area
Bloor Street will be closed between Bedford Road and Yonge Street to all vehicular traffic at 5pm Saturday, October 2 until 9am Sunday, October 3, 2010. Local traffic to certain areas only.
Major north-south routes will remain open at Bloor Street (including Bay Street and Queens Park/Avenue Road)
Yorkville Ave - local traffic only at Bay Street
Cumberland Street - local traffic only at Avenue Road (controlled access for tenants as required)
Cumberland Street - closed 70 m East of Avenue Rd to Bellair Street
Bellair Street - closed at Bloor Street West with local traffic only at Cumberland Street Southbound
St. Thomas Street - closed at Bloor Street West with local traffic only at Charles Street West.
Bay Street
Bay Street will be closed between Richmond Street West and Dundas Street West to all vehicular traffic at 5pm on October 2 to 9am on October 3, 2010.
Access will be maintained to The Marriott Hotel, the Toronto Eaton Centre loading dock, and Bell Trinity Square parking garage from Dundas Street West ONLY.
