Paralandscape is an interactive, participatory globetrotting adventure that explores imaginative geographies.

Participants grasp on to a white parachute which has the revolving blue world as rendered by Google Earth projected on to it. The parachute becomes a portal upon which participants look down into a virtual, time-traveling journey. Through the classic parachute game of ‘popcorn’, participants learn of their surprise destination and are whisked away. They are treated to notable places and some unexpected and strange sights.

Paralandscape invites participants to skew, distort and reshape the image of the Earth in a playful manner. It is a whimsical reminder that through play, imagination and geoweb technology, going anywhere, anytime, is but a shake away.

The GeoArt Collective (Marissa Largo, Sean Bennell & Daniel Pierre) is engaged in the politics of public space, urban development, and community art.
