Getting Around

It's easy to access the event by foot, bike, transit or car. Take advantage of all-night TTC service on part of the subway system and the car free zones.

On Foot

New this year, partial road closures of Spadina Avenue, Queen Street West, Bathurst Street, Fort York Boulevard and Bremner Boulevard will provide safe and easy access to many projects for pedestrians. This is to ensure the safety of large audiences and improve free-flowing access to the art. 

By Bike

Cycling is a great way to see as many projects across the city as possible. Don't forget a safety light, bell and helmet. If you don't have your own bike, check out Bike Share, Toronto's public bike system.

Public Transit

Toronto Transit Commission

All-night service
In addition to the regular all-night Blue Night Network service, the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) is extending all-night service to a portion of the subway.

  • Line 2, The Bloor-Danforth Subway will run all night from Keele to Woodbine
  • Line 1, The Yonge-University-Spadina Subway will run all night from St. Clair West to Eglinton.

NOTE: The TTC subway system will be closed between 7:30 - 9am on Sunday, October 5.

Last Train Times
Line 2, Bloor-Danforth line:

  • Last westbound train departs Woodbine at 7am, arriving at Keele (final stop) at approximately 7:25am.
  • Last eastbound train departs Keele at 7am, arriving at Woodbine (final stop) at approximately 7:25am.

Line 1, Yonge-University-Spadina line:

  • Last southbound train departs Eglinton at 7am, arriving at St. Clair West (final stop) at approximately 7:40am
  • Last southbound train departs St. Clair West at 7am, arriving at Eglinton (final stop) at approximately 7:40am.

Service Diversions
Some surface routes will be diverted around event street closures.

  • 501 Queen Streetcar will be diverted onto King Street between Spadina Avenue and Church Street.

Park & Ride
Free all-night parking is available at TTC Commuter Parking Lots. The Spadina Subway Shuttle Bus will run frequently from St. Clair West Station, stopping at commuter parking lots located at or near Wilson and Downsview stations. Last shuttle bus leaves St. Clair West Station at 7:40am. For more information about TTC's all-night bus network, visit www.ttc.ca.

Special Event Day Pass
The Special Event TTC Day Pass allows a single customer or a family/group of customers (up to 6 people, maximum 2 adults and 4 children/youths, 19 years of age or under) to pay one low price for unlimited travel on all regular TTC service. For Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, the TTC Day Pass is valid from the start of service on Saturday, October 4 until 9 am on Sunday, October 5. Day Passes are available at all subway station Collector Booths starting September 22, at a cost of $11 00. Day Passes cannot be used at automatic entrances.

GO Transit

Regular GO Train service runs half hourly on Saturday along the Lakeshore line between Aldershot and Oshawa. The rest of the GO network is served by Go Bus.

Special late-night service
To accommodate the late-night festivities, GO is running extra trains to and from Union Station.

  • Two extra homebound trains will run along the Lakeshore GO lines in the early hours of October 5. Bus connections will be available to Hamilton GO Centre.
  • The Milton, Kitchener, Barrie, Stouffville and Richmond Hill GO lines will each have a special train traveling into Toronto on October 4, returning homebound in the early hours of October 5.
  • Late night GO Buses will run on most routes from Union Station Bus Terminal.
  • For those staying all night, regular scheduled Lakeshore train trips out of Union Station resume Sunday morning at 6:43am westbound to Aldershot and at 7:13 am eastbound to Oshawa

Save with a GO Group Pass
With a GO Group Pass up to three youths ride free for the price of the two paying adults. The Group Pass allows up to five people (maximum two adults and three youths under the age of 18) unlimited travel in one day between two fare zones. For Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, the GO group and day passes purchased on Saturday October 4 are valid for the extra homebound train trips on Sunday, October 5.

Road Closures

New this year, portions of Spadina Avenue, Queen Street West, Bathurst Street, Fort York Boulevard, and Bremner Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic providing safe and easy access to many projects for pedestrians. This is to ensure the safety of large audiences and to improve free-flowing access to the art.

Spadina Avenue

Partial and full closures between College Street and Front Street West, starting at 3 pm Saturday, October 4 until 9 am Sunday, October 5

  • Southbound lanes will be closed between College Street and Front Street West
  • Northbound lanes will be closed between Richmond Street West and Baldwin Street
  • With the exception of Queen Street West, all major cross streets will remain open, including:  College Street, Dundas Street West, Richmond Street West, Adelaide Street West, Wellington Street West, and Front Street West
  • TTC 510 Streetcar service will be maintained and unaffected for the duration of the street closure

Queen Street West

Closed between Bay Street and Cameron Street, starting at 4 pm Saturday, October 5 until 8 am Sunday, October 6

  • University Avenue will remain open and unaffected
  • Sheraton Centre will have controlled one-way (eastbound) access to underground parking garage on Queen Street West for valet services
  • TTC 501 Streetcar service will be diverted to King Street between Spadina Avenue and Church Street for the duration of the street closure

Bathurst Street

Partial and full closures between King Street West and Lake Shore Boulevard West, starting at 4 pm Saturday, October 4 until 8 am Sunday, October 5

  • Southbound lanes will be closed between King Street West and Lake Shore Boulevard West
  • Northbound lanes will be closed between Front Street West and Lake Shore Boulevard West
  • Stewart Street, Wellington Street West and Niagara Street will remain open
  • TTC 511 Streetcar service will be maintained and unaffected for the duration of the street closure

Fort York Boulevard

Closed between Fleet Street and Spadina Avenue, starting at 6 pm Saturday, October 4 until 8 am Sunday, October 5

East of Bathurst Street

  • Telegram Mews/Brunel Court and Dan Leckie Way will remain open
  • Residents and businesses located in and around Concord CityPlace (West of Spadina Avenue) will have controlled two-way access via Dan Leckie Way and Iceboat Terrace ONLY
  • Iceboat Terrace will be converted to two-way traffic to accommodate access and egress to neighbourhood

 West of Bathurst Street

  • Residents and businesses located south of Fort York Boulevard and west of Bathurst Street will have controlled access and egress via Fleet Street and Bruyeres Mews ONLY
  • Iannuzzi Street, Sloping Sky Mews, Grand Magazine Street, Bastion Street, Gzowski Boulevard, Angelique Street, and Bruyeres Mews will be maintained or converted to two-way traffic

Bremner Boulevard

Closed between Spadina Avenue and Lower Simcoe Street, starting at 6 pm Saturday, October 4 until 8 am Sunday, October 5

  • Metro Toronto Convention Centre (south building) will have controlled access via Lower Simcoe Street ONLY
  • Eastbound lanes of Bremner Boulevard will be converted to two-way traffic between Rees Street and Navy Wharf Court
  • Residents and businesses located on Navy Wharf Court (south of Bremner Boulevard) and Mariner Terrace will have controlled two-way access via Rees Street and Bremner Boulevard ONLY
